Tailwind Capital Invests in Smith-Cooper

New York – December 2017 – Tailwind Capital, a leading middle market private equity firm investing in growth-oriented companies in targeted sectors within industrial services, healthcare and business services, announced its acquisition of Smith-Cooper International. Smith-Cooper is a leading distributor of valves, fittings and related products.

Based in Commerce, CA, Smith-Cooper provides its products through three distinct brands. SCI® offers trademarked valves and fittings made of steel, iron, brass, bronze, and stainless steel; Sharpe® offers carbon and stainless steel valves used to control the flow of various media in piping systems; and FPPI® offers fire protection accessory products. The company provides over 15,000 MRO SKUs to more than 4,000 customers across diverse end markets that include industrial, fire protection, oil and gas, commercial and residential construction, agriculture, food and chemical processing and waterworks.
