New York – November 2020 – Today the Partnership Fund for New York City announced the election of Sanjay Swani as Co-Chair of its Board of Directors, succeeding Charles Kaye, CEO of Warburg Pincus LLC. He joins Co-Chair Tarek Sherif, CEO and Co-Founder of Medidata Solutions Inc.
Swani is a Partner at Tailwind Capital, where he also serves on the firm's Management Committee. Tailwind is a private equity firm, which focuses on investments in technology, healthcare, and industrial services. Previously, Swani was a General Partner at Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe and also a Co-Founder of Saroras Private Capital.

The Fund is the investment arm of the Partnership for New York City, capitalized by private, corporate and individual contributions from members of the Partnership. It is a civic fund dedicated to job creation and community development, where all returns are invested for a public purpose. To date, it has invested almost $175 million. Its current initiatives include:
- The New York City Small Business Resource Network – a one-stop-shop for business owners seeking private and public resources in response to COVID-19, created in partnership with the NYC Economic Development Corporation;
- The FinTech Innovation Lab – an accelerator that has built the city's global leadership in the fintech sector; and
- NYC IndieBio, an accelerator and funding source for life sciences companies that start up and commit to grow in New York City.
The Fund was established in 1995 under Founding Chairman Henry R. Kravis, Co-CEO of Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Co.
