New York – September 2020 – Tailwind Capital (“Tailwind”), a middle market private equity firm focused on investments in the technology and business services, industrial services and healthcare sectors, announced that Rick Willett has joined the firm as an Operating Executive. Mr. Willett will work with the Tailwind team focusing on the Software and Technology Sectors.

Mr. Willett brings extensive experience as a CEO and board member across a wide range of Technology and Software businesses. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer for QuickBase, a leading low-code application development platform provider. Mr. Willett was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Ascend Learning, a provider of software and on-line content solutions for healthcare professionals. Prior to Ascend, he was the CEO of NewPage, a manufacturing company and the COO of Teleglobe, a software-enabled telecom services business. He has also served as Executive Chairman of GetWell Network and is currently a board member of Spear Education. Mr. Willet started his career with General Electric Corporation and progressed through several of the leadership development programs. At GE, he worked across a range of general management and CFO roles in GE’s industrial and GE Capital operating units in North America, Europe, and Asia. Mr. Willett has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
