Doug serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer and has been with Tailwind since its founding in 2003. He brings substantial experience to the team from his years at Warburg Pincus, where he was a partner and a member of the operating committee, and Salomon Brothers, where he was also a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions group. Doug also spent six years with the Boston Consulting Group, launching BCG’s New York office. He is a graduate of Yale University and the Harvard Law School.

Larry is Tailwind’s Co-Chief Executive Officer and has been with the firm from the outset in 2003. He worked previously at Welsh, Carson, Anderson, & Stowe as a general partner and as a member of the management and investment committees. Larry was a Managing Director and a member of the investment committee at Morgan Stanley and its private equity affiliate, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners. He is a graduate of Brown University, Harvard Law School, and the Harvard Business School.

Frank arrived at Tailwind in 2006 after two decades in the private equity business at Soros Fund Management and Morgan Stanley. At Soros, he was President of Soros Private Funds Management, where he oversaw private equity and real estate activities and chaired the investment committee. Frank was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and its private equity affiliate, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, where he also served as Co-CEO. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director in Morgan Stanley’s M&A department. Frank is a graduate of both Wesleyan University and the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, and was an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

David has been with Tailwind since 2003. Prior to joining Tailwind, David worked as a turnaround manager on behalf of Texas Pacific Group with semiconductor manufacturer Zilog. He was also Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing Satmetrix Systems, a software company, and a founder and CEO of the online media company Investor Broadcast Network. Previously, David held executive positions at American Express, and served as a consultant and manager at Bain & Company. He received his masters and undergraduate degrees from Stanford University, and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School.

Mr. Deutsch served as Chairman and/or Chief Executive Officer of MP TotalCare, a specialty distributor of pharmaceutical products and medical supplies serving the senior population, from 1999 through to 2005. Prior to MP TotalCare, Mr. Deutsch was a member of the senior management team of Lincare Holdings (NASDAQ:LNCR), one of the largest providers of home oxygen and respiratory therapy products and services. Mr. Deutsch began his career as a Division Counsel with Union Carbide Corporation, where he provided commercial, merger and acquisition, and corporate legal counsel to consumer, manufacturing, distribution, and service businesses.

Mr. Deutsch received an LL.M. degree from the University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law; a J.D. degree from New York Law School; and a B.A. degree from Brooklyn College.

Mr. McCarthy has served as Executive Vice President, Operations of Freedom Innovations, LLC since 2009. He spent 25 years at Aircast Incorporated, serving as Executive Vice President of Operations/New Product Development as the company grew from under $2 million to $100 million in annual global revenues. Following Aircast Incorporated’s acquisition by dj Orthopedics, Mr. McCarthy was Aircast Incorporated’s General Manager and Vice President of International Operations focusing on the integration of dj Orthopedics and Aircast. Mr. McCarthy has extensive experience in lean manufacturing practices, new product development and global outsourcing initiatives, and holds several patents on orthopedic devices.

Mr. Milano serves as Chief Financial Officer of Nautilus Neurosciences, Inc. Mr. Milano has over 20 years of experience as a senior financial executive with deep operating experience in the telecommunications, manufacturing and pharmaceutical sectors. Mr. Milano has been an advisor with direct onsite oversight of several Tailwind and TWCP portfolio companies including MediaLive International, Pillar Holdings LLC and Dianet Communications. Mr. Rando serves on the boards of Apex Companies, LLC, Archway Marketing Services, Inc., Oceus Networks Inc. and Optimal Solutions Integration Inc. and is an active participant in Tailwind’s Business & Communications Services group. Mr. Rando has over 35 years of experience in the Information Technology Industry. Most recently he was a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Compensation Committee at Cognos Inc. (COGN), a world leader in business intelligence and corporate performance management software, acquired by IBM in 2008. Previously, he was Senior Vice President and Group General Manager of Global Services for Compaq Computer Corporation, responsible for $7 billion in revenues and over 27,000 service professionals worldwide. He was Chairman and President of Compaq’s Federal Systems LLC, a subsidiary responsible for Compaq’s U.S. Federal Government business.

Mr. Rando is a former director of @Stake Inc., Ecora Software Corporation, ePresence Inc., National Computer Systems, Storability Software Inc., The Capital Markets Company and Yankee Energy Systems, Inc.

He holds a B.S. degree from Boston College and a Masters of Management from Northwestern University.

Mr. Reed serves as Chairman of the Board of Oceus Networks Inc. Mr. Reed has over 35 years of operating experience, most recently as Chief Executive Officer of Cable & Wireless Global, a leading global provider of Internet Protocol (IP) and data services to business customers. Before joining Cable & Wireless, Mr. Reed served as CEO of Cabletron Systems, then the third largest U.S. producer of networking equipment. Mr. Reed was President and Group Executive of NYNEX (now Verizon) following a 30 year career with the company.

Mr. Reed’s experience includes service on the Board of Directors of Idearc, publishers of Verizon print directories and SuperPages.com from 2007 to 2010 and the Board of Directors of Cable & Wireless plc from 2000 to 2003. He served as a non-executive Director at building materials and cement manufacturers Aggregate Industries US and Aggregate Industries Europe, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Holcim Group (Swiss:HOLN.VX). In addition, Mr. Reed also serves as Chairman of the Board of CSG Systems International Inc. (NASDAQ:CSGS), a Denver-based provider of commerce and billing software and solutions.

Mr. Reed graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 including a tour of duty in Vietnam as an officer with the 82nd Airborne and First Infantry Divisions.

Mr. Tobaccowala serves on the boards of Optimal Solutions Integration Inc. and Oceus Networks Inc. Mr. Tobaccowala has over 35 years of operating experience in the business and communications services sectors. Until May 2005, he was the Chairman of R4 Global Solutions, which was acquired by Verisign. Previously, Mr. Tobaccowala was Executive Vice President at AppNet where he completed 12 acquisitions in nine months, enabling the company to offer a full range of services and complete a public offering. Commerce One acquired AppNet in 2000. Prior to joining AppNet, Mr. Tobaccowala was Strategic Business Unit President of the Media Industry Group at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). He spent 23 years at EDS, starting out in engineering and working extensively in the retail, financial and telecommunication industries.

Mr. Tobaccowala is the current Chairman of CRI Advantage, a provider of IT consulting and managed services encompassing the areas of Enterprise Systems, Messaging and Infrastructure. He holds an MBA from the Bajaj Institute of Management in India and a B.S., E.E. from Maharaja Shivajirao University, India.
